Alastair McEwan, Chairman of the Board
Mr. McEwan was hired as Chief Financial Officer in September 2005.
Prior to working at Cornerstone, Mr. McEwan was a Group Executive
Vice President of Inveresk Research Group, Inc. and served as
President of Inveresk Global Clinical Operations beginning in 2003.
He had previously been President of Inveresk Clinical Americas
operations since April 2001. Mr. McEwan was Head of Corporate
Development of Inveresk Research Group from January 2000 until March
2001, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, and served as General
Manager, Clinical, of Inveresk Research Group Limited from June 1996
until December 1999, with significant operational responsibility.
Mr. McEwan was instrumental in Inveresk’s acquisition of ClinTrials
Research, Inc. in 2001, which tripled the size of Inveresk at the
time. Mr. McEwan served as a member of the Group Executive Board of
Inveresk Research Inc. from 1999 to 2004, during which time he had
direct involvement in Inveresk’s initial public offering, subsequent
acquisitions, and eventual sale to Charles River Laboratories for
$1.5 billion. Mr. McEwan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979
with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland after
receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1976 from the University
of Edinburgh.
Craig A. Collard, President and CEO
Mr. Collard founded Cornerstone in March of 2004, and has since served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and a
director. Prior to Cornerstone, Mr. Collard served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Carolina Pharmaceuticals, a company
he founded in May of 2003. Prior to founding Carolina Pharmaceuticals Inc., Mr. Collard served as Vice President of Sales for Verum
Pharmaceuticals Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina from August 2002 to February 2003.
Mr. Collard was responsible for the strategic and tactical direction for all marketing, sales, trade, managed care, and business
development projects that impacted the organization. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Collard worked as Director of National Accounts at DJ Pharma Inc.,
a company which was eventually purchased by Biovail Pharmaceuticals, Inc. His pharmaceutical career began in 1992 as a field sales
representative at Dura Pharmaceuticals Inc. He was later promoted to several other sales and marketing positions within Dura. Mr. Collard
sits on the board of Hilltop Home Inc., in addition to the board of Cornerstone. Mr. Collard received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
from the Southern College of Technology. |
